Did you have a bank account where you paid a monthly fee?

These are called packaged accounts — often named Gold, Platinum, Premier, Silver, Reward, or Ultimate Reward. They charged a monthly fee for bundled benefits like insurance or breakdown cover.

Which bank was the account with?

Pick the bank where the account was held. If you've since switched to a different bank, pick the one you had the account with.

When did you have this account?

The Financial Ombudsman Service can generally only review complaints about events within the last 15 years — the industry's “long-stop” rule.

Which of these apply to your situation?

Select all that apply — the more grounds you have, the stronger your letter.

This service isn't for you — and that's good news.

ClaimsDraft helps people reclaim fees from packaged bank accounts — the kind that charged £5–£30 a month and bundled insurance, travel cover, or breakdown services.

If you only had a standard free current account, there's nothing to reclaim. You weren't charged monthly fees, so there are no fees to refund.

If you have a different kind of financial complaint (mis-sold PPI, a poor-value mortgage, pension issues), the free MoneyHelper service can point you in the right direction.

Your case may fall outside the time limits.

The Financial Ombudsman Service's long-stop rule generally prevents them from reviewing complaints about events more than 15 years old. We can't reliably help if your account was held that long ago.

Your bank may still consider the complaint on goodwill, but if they reject it you won't have FOS as a backup. Given that risk, we won't ask you to pay £49 for a letter that may not be actionable.

If you want to try anyway, the free MoneyHelper template is a good starting point.
